In vivo antioxidant activity of deacetylasperulosidic acid in noni.
Ma DL, Chen M, Su CX, West BJ.
Daily deacetylasperulosidic acid (DAA) ingestion, for 7 days, reduced serum malondialdehyde and caused a dose-dependent increase in superoxide dismutase activity in Wistar rats. These results suggest that the antioxidant action of noni juice is due, at least in part, to DAA’s ability to increase superoxide dismutase activity. The results further suggest that DAA may also increase catalase activity. (available online at https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jamc/2013/804504/).
