Chemical constituents of Morinda citrifolia roots exhibit hypoglycemic effects in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice.

Extracts were prepared from Morinda citrifolia roots using 3 types of solvents, which were then fed to different groups of diabetic mice. The n-butanol extract reduced blood glucose levels and contained two iridoids and three anthraquinones as main constituents.  (view original abstract at
