Ingestion of a thermostable lipid transfer protein isolated from noni seeds inhibited cell migration in carrageenan-induced peritonitis and mouse paw edema induced by carrageenan and dextran. The lipid transfer protein also inhibited the production of cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α and increased production of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10.
